Infographic: Why should you care about email marketing

Email Best PracticesEmail marketing continues to be one of the most effective tactics in digital. Today, the medium is well-trusted and used with satisfaction in high quantity (“In 2013, there were 3.6 billion email accounts!”– Radicati). The tactic serves a vital piece of the customer journey and fuels relationship management across most verticals. And, as email and its technologies continue to develop and become more sophisticated, the opportunities to target and reach the most qualified customers do as well. Success is evident. In fact, according to Harris Interactive, “81% of US online shoppers are more likely to make additional purchases, either online or in a store, as a result of emails based on previous shopping behaviors and preference.” Moreover, according to the Direct Marketing Association, 66% of consumers have made a purchase online as a result of an email marketing message. The Direct Marketing Association also reported that email marketing has an ROI of 4,300%. While often deemed not as “exciting” as some of the more recognized digital tactics, those numbers don’t lie. To capitalize on the momentum of email marketing today and tomorrow, following best practices is critical. From the content to the pre-header text and follow-up analytics, know your best practices. Don’t become one of the 17% of marketers that neglect to track or analyze email metrics for their organization (MEC Labs).
