Social media platforms have been a huge success for some businesses when it comes to marketing. As you know, Pinterest has become one of the platforms marketers have begun rolling into their integrated social media marketing plans. Pinterest’s traffic has consistently been growing and outpacing the referral traffic of Google, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Bing, and YouTube. To say the least, this type of referral traffic gained the attention of the social media industry.
Studies have shown that Pinterest’s referral traffic rose from 85% in January to 119% in June. That’s a huge progression. And since Pinterest is generating more referral traffic than StumbleUpon, this position is now being tested by Pinterest’s impressive referral results.
So in summary, Pinterest’s referral traffic reports show that it is no substitute for keyword building, but serves as a powerful form of additional SEO. This social media marketing should be part of some businesses overall strategy for increasing web traffic and sales.
Does your business use Pinterest for social media marketing? How do you use the platform?

What surprised me on this report was that Yahoo was both still in the running and that it was performing better than all of the rest you mentioned here as well. Also, despite the growth of Pinterest, Twitter, etc, Facebook was still much higher than them.
