It’s no surprise how much social media has affected the way we live. Personally, social media has made its way into my every day routines, including how I keep up on my news reports. Living in the digital information age, we all want our information as fast as possible.
Believe it or not, social media is replacing traditional journalism as a news source. Nearly half of all Americans get some form of local news on a mobile device and 46% of people get their news online at least three times a week.
With online news, we’re getting more breaking news than ever before. And with social media, we’re getting our news in real time! It really is quite amazing. Sometimes we even hear the news before news organizations have a chance to get to the scene and report it. This just adds another reason why I love the power of social media.
