Facebook recently launched a new targeting option for page admins trying to reach particular users. The new targeting options allows admins to be able to target a variety of options such as age, gender, interested in, relationship status, education and workplace. The new feature is great news for marketers.
These new targeted segments allow marketers to go an extra step in trying pin pointing their brand’s message. Below is what the new feature looks like:
One of the questions that may be running through your mind is, “why did Facebook add this additional targeting option?” There are potentially two reasons for this. One reason is to decrease a barrier of entry for creating an ad unit and two, to help admins increase reach. Both are great options for marketers.
With increasing reach, marketers have to keep in mind to identify demographic information within Facebook Insights, select demographics to be targeted and craft content to target audience.
